Publishing your app

Put your app live at its address: the address, visibility, what a publish contains, versions, share links, the badge, and taking an app offline.

On this page

Publishing takes the latest build and puts it live at your app's address. Until you publish, only you can see the app, in the preview. After you publish, visitors see that version until you publish again.

The address

Every app has a free address of the form <name>.webapps.praxivara.com. The name is chosen from your app's name; change it on the Publish panel before or after publishing. You can also connect a domain you own; see Custom domains.

Publishing

Press Publish

At the top of the builder.

Check the address and visibility

Who can open the app: anyone with the link, only people you invite, or only you. See Invitations and app visibility.

Optionally run a security scan

One press. It reads your code and permissions and lists anything worth fixing first. See Security scan.

Confirm

The panel shows what hosting will use per day. Press Publish; the app is live a moment later.

What a publish contains

  • The pages and code of the latest build.
  • SEO settings and the pages search engines can see, if SEO is on.
  • The Praxivara badge setting and the social image.

Your database, users, secrets, domains and automations are not part of a publish; they are live all the time and shared by every version.

Versions

Each publish is a version. The dashboard shows which version is live. Restore an earlier build from version history and publish it to roll back.

Sharing

The Your app links panel gives you the address to copy. On an invite-only or private app the link asks for a sign-in first.

The badge

A small "Built with Praxivara" link sits in the corner of your app. Switch it off under Settings › Preferences; the change applies the next time you publish.

Taking an app offline

Take offline under Settings stops visitors opening the app. Everything else keeps working: your data, functions, automations and dashboard, so the app can keep working for you without being live to visitors. Publish any time to put it back.

Costs

Hosting is charged daily in credits while the app is live, at the rate the Publish panel shows. See Hosting, credits and usage.
