Design, themes and images
How the look of an app is set and changed: theme, fonts, colours, dark mode, motion, photography, generated images, the app icon and the social image.

On this page
Every app starts with a look chosen for what it is. Type, colour, spacing and motion are set in one place, so "make it warmer" or "more serious" changes the whole app at once rather than one page at a time.
The theme
The theme holds a font pairing, one brand colour, the corner radius and the dark-mode values. Ask for it in plain words:
- Use a serif for headings and keep the body clean.
- Make the brand colour forest green.
- Softer corners, more like a consumer app.
- Add a dark mode and a toggle in the header.
Or name the feel: a fintech dashboard, a boutique hotel, a developer tool. The builder translates that into a theme and applies it everywhere.
Photography
Photos come from a library of free, licensed photography. The builder searches it, looks at the candidates and picks the ones that fit, so a yoga studio gets a real studio and a bakery gets real bread. Searching and using these photos costs you nothing. You can ask for different ones: find a brighter hero photo.
Generated images
When a photograph will not do, an illustration, a product that does not exist yet, a specific layout mock-up, the builder can generate an image. Generated images are billed to you in credits, so the builder reaches for photography first and generates only when asked or when nothing else fits.
Your own images
Attach your logo, product shots or brand guidelines to a message and ask the builder to use them. Files your visitors upload are handled separately; see Files and uploads.
App icon and social image
- Icon: under Settings › App info. It doubles as the favicon in the browser tab.
- Social image: under Settings › Preferences. Shown when your app's link is shared. 1200 × 630 pixels works best.
Responsive by default
Every app is built to work on desktop, tablet and phone from the first build. Check each width with the buttons above the preview and say what looks wrong; the builder can see the same screen.
