Your app is served at its free address the moment you publish. To use your own domain, connect it under Domains. Certificates are issued and renewed for you.

Connecting a domain you own

Enter the domain

Under Domains press Connect existing domain and type it, for example yourcompany.com. We set up www for you too.

Add the records

The panel shows the exact records to add at your DNS provider: one for the bare domain and one for www. Enter just the name it shows, most providers add the rest of your domain themselves; if there is a TTL field leave it at the default.

Or let us do it

Set up DNS for me signs you in to your provider and adds the records for you, where the provider supports it. Nothing is written until you confirm on their screen.

Verify

Press Verify domain. DNS changes usually take effect within minutes but can take up to 48 hours to spread everywhere.

One custom domain per app. A root and its www count as one. Remove the current domain to connect a different one.

Subdomains

A subdomain such as app.yourcompany.com or shop.yourcompany.com works the same way with a single record. Enter just the prefix as the name.

Statuses

StatusMeaning
Pending verificationRecords not seen yet. Give DNS time, then Verify.
VerifyingRecords found; the certificate is being issued.
LiveServing your app over HTTPS.
Not reachableThe domain resolved before and does not now. Check the records were not changed.
Action neededSomething you can fix: the panel says what.

You get an email when a domain goes live and if it later stops working.

Checking what your DNS says

DNS records on the Domains tab reads your domain from public DNS, exactly as the rest of the internet sees it, and shows your provider and the certificate. Records you proxy through your own Cloudflare account show as Cloudflare addresses; that is normal.

Buying a domain

If you do not own one yet, Get a new domain suggests names for your app and lets you buy one without leaving the dashboard; the records are set up for you.

Proving ownership

Pointing DNS at Praxivara is proof enough for a domain nobody here has used before. In the rare case a domain was connected to a different app on Praxivara earlier, the panel asks you to publish a short TXT record to prove it is yours.

Email

Your app's emails go out from a Praxivara sending address with your app's name as the sender name; connecting a domain does not change that. The Domains tab shows the address and the name it appears under.

Removing a domain

Delete domain stops serving the app there; the free address keeps working. Remove the records at your provider when you no longer need them.
